Denver Scholarships Available
The Denver Chapter is pleased to offer scholarship opportunities to undergraduate or graduate students pursuing studies related to the mining/minerals industry while enrolled at an accredited Colorado college or university.
2026 Scholarship is available now!
The WOMEN IN MINING Denver Chapter (WIM Denver) is pleased to offer four $3,000 scholarships and two $1,500 scholarships to undergraduate or graduate students pursuing studies related to the mining/minerals industry while enrolled in an accredited Colorado college or university. WIM Denver has been awarding college-level scholarships since 1975 to encourage the next generation of participants in the mining/minerals industry. This application is open to anyone who meets the eligibility requirements regardless of gender as WIM is an inclusive organization.
WIM Denver, a 501(c)(6) is a nonprofit organization focused on advancing the interests of women in the mining and related industries by inspiring, supporting, and developing the progress of women. Overall objectives of WIM include public outreach/education of this industry, providing opportunities for networking and professional development, and encouragement of education through the award of scholarships. WIM Denver members represent individuals from diverse backgrounds working together to meet the mission and objectives of the organization to evolve and advance the mining/minerals industries.
The application should be submitted via this website. All applicants will receive emails with the result of their application by the end of July. Four award recipients will be presented a lump sum of $3,000 each at the start of the 2026 Fall semester. Two award recipients will be presented a lump sum of $1,500 each at the start of the 2026 Fall semester. If the chosen scholarship recipient fails to meet the required criteria listed above, WIM Denver will award the scholarship to the runner up.
The successful applicants will be offered the opportunity to be spotlighted in WIM Denver’s social media posts, such as LinkedIn, as a way to celebrate their accomplishments and provide visibility to industry connections.

APPLICANT ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
- Submission of the WIM Denver 2026 Scholarship Application with all questions completed.
- Enrollment for the 2026-Fall semester at an accredited Colorado college or university in a degree program.
- Enrolled in an area of study that relates to the mining/minerals industry. This is inclusive of, but not limited to: geology/geosciences, hydrology, environmental sciences, engineering (geological, mining, metallurgical, mineral processing, civil/water resources), mineral economics, and mining inclusivity- and diversity-focused studies.
- Enrolled as a junior or senior undergraduate and a minimum of 12 credit hours; or as a graduate student and a minimum of 3 credit hours. Proof of current (Fall 2026) enrollment will be required.
