Women in Mining USA is a volunteer-driven organization, and our committees are where members come together to make an impact.
Committees lead programming, partnerships, awards, governance, and more. Joining a committee is one of the best ways to connect, contribute your skills, and help shape the future of WIM USA.
Awards Committee
Oversees WIM USA’s national awards, including the Distinguished Service Award, and coordinates with the Conference and Public Relations Committees to recognize members across the mining industry.
Conference Committee
Plans and delivers the WIM USA Annual Conference, coordinating programming, sponsorship, logistics, and communications to ensure a high-value, inclusive event for students, professionals, and sponsors.
Membership Committee
Engages, retains, and grows WIM USA membership, supports chapters with recruitment strategies, and ensures members are welcomed and connected.
Programming Committee
Leads WIM USA’s year-round programming outside the annual conference, including Leadership Lab, the Mentor Network, webinars, and international initiatives like BRIMM.
Student Liaison Committee
Supports student chapters with resources, grants, and continuity, ensures student voices are included in national leadership, and coordinates student participation at the Annual Conference.
Bylaws & Governance Committee
Maintains the WIM USA Bylaws and Policies, reviews chapter bylaws, and ensures compliance with nonprofit requirements. Includes subcommittees for legislative action, nominations, and history/archives.
Fundraising Committee
Sets national fundraising goals, develops sponsorship opportunities, and explores new revenue streams to sustain WIM USA programs and initiatives.
Finance Committee
Supports financial health and transparency by reviewing budgets, monitoring expenditures, and advising chapters on financial best practices. Works closely with Fundraising, Partnerships, and the Treasurer.
Public Relations Committee
Manages WIM USA’s communications, social media, branding, and website. Also publishes the quarterly WIM USA Journal and supports chapters with outreach and communications.
Partnership Committee
Manages relationships with corporate members, sustaining sponsors, and alliance partners, ensuring they receive timely communication, recognition, and value from their support.
