For November’s Dig In, join Dr. Carson A. Richardson, Senior Research Scientist with the AZGS at the University of Arizona, who will discuss “Mapping in the Big Sandy Valley” (near Wikieup, AZ).
The Big Sandy Valley is situated between the Aquarius and Hualapai Mountains in northwestern Arizona and consists of Proterozoic metamorphic rocks, small-volume pegmatites, Cretaceous to Laramide age intrusions believed to be the root systems of porphyry copper-molybdenum systems, and known lithium mineralization in muddy lithofacies of the Big Sandy Formation.
