E. Grace Mayer is a data scientist working for the last five years in spectroscopy for the neuroscience and mining industries. Currently she is working at Veracio, a company that specializes in increasing universal orebody knowledge through better data analytics. She utilizes machine learning, statistics, and automation to increase the accuracy of the information Veracio provides to clients. A graduate from the University of New Mexico with a master’s in statistics, Grace’s primary focus is in solving the complex problems associated with the collection, processing, and analysis of spectral data. Before earning her Master’s, Grace spent many years teaching and volunteering at the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science, which was the catalyst for igniting her passion for scientific interpretation.
