Our Mission

The West Virginia Chapter of Women in Mining is a nonprofit organization created to promote, encourage, inspire, and advocate for women in the mining industry in the surrounding Appalachia region. In addition, WIM Appalachia strives to educate members and their communities of the economic, scientific, technical, and environmental aspects of mining, and seeks to preserve the great heritage, rich mining history and people of West Virginia.
