Women in Mining USA, in collaboration with Ausenco, is pleased to offer the WIM USA Student Support Scholarship, a competitive award designed to support students who are interested in the mining and minerals industry and who demonstrate leadership, initiative, and alignment with the mission of WIM USA.
Scholarship Award
The selected recipient will receive:
- $3,000 scholarship award
- Full conference registration
- Conference lodging covered
Selection Criteria
Applications will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
- Interest in the Mining and Minerals Industry
Applicants should describe how and why they are interested in the mining and minerals industry. This may include coursework, research, internships, work experience, outreach activities, or personal experiences. Students from non-traditional or interdisciplinary backgrounds are welcome, provided they can demonstrate a clear connection to the industry. - Leadership, Service, and Initiative
Applicants should describe leadership roles or initiatives they have taken on in academic, professional, community, or WIM-related settings. Emphasis should be placed on actions taken, challenges addressed, and outcomes or impacts achieved. - Alignment with the Mission and Values of Women in Mining
Applicants should explain how their experiences, values, and goals align with the mission of Women in Mining USA, including advancing inclusion, mentorship, professional development, and positive change within the mining industry. - Academic and Professional Goals
Applicants should describe their short- and long-term academic and professional goals and explain how this scholarship would support their continued development and future impact within or connected to the mining and minerals industry.
